Jim Whitehead is Chief Scientist, AI Research Development and Experiments (AIX) team at Sauce Labs, and a Professor of Computational Media at the University of California, Santa Cruz. His research combines insights from artificial intelligence, software engineering and computer games to explore topics such as automatic generation of test scenarios for autonomous vehicles and procedural level design for games. Within Sauce Labs, Jim and the AIX team explore the use of large language models (LLMs) for web and mobile testing, autonomous testing technology, and machine-learning driven test analytics. He received his PhD in Information and Computer Science from UC Irvine in 2000.
