HashiCorp

Think Tank Speaker

Steffen Wagner has had an extraordinary journey with HashiCorp: from an enthusiastic customer at Lufthansa Systems, he is now helping shape the company's strategic direction as Field CTO. His first contact with HashiCorp products was back in 2016, when he automated AWS cloud infrastructure in the early days of Terraform. During his time at Lufthansa Systems, Steffen led the cloud transformation with the introduction of the Global Aviation Cloud, which replaced traditional data centers. Through the partnership with HashiCorp and the outsourcing of infrastructure management, the company was able to refocus its teams and significantly increase efficiency – the cloud operations team was reduced by 75%, while a much larger and more complex environment was managed at the same time. In his role as Field CTO, Steffen now brings the customer perspective into HashiCorp's work and ensures that solutions meet real-world demands. His goal is to support companies on their cloud journey - with a unique mix of hands-on experience, a forward-looking mindset, and proven best practices for managing large-scale cloud infrastructure.

Bridging the Gap: Mastering the Art of Business-Technology Harmony

Bridging the gap between business and technology is not easy and requires discipline and balance between technology, people, and business. For so many organizations today, technology is the business. Technology needs to be understood as a critical enabler in every part of the organization from the front line to the back office. It creates new value by crunching data to deliver new insights, it spurs innovation, and it disrupts traditional business models.

For business and technology leaders alike, new actions and behavioral changes can help their organizations make this shift. CIOs and CISOs must take responsibility for problems, they should convey that when technology fails, many people typically share responsibility.
