El Reto de la Modernización de Aplicaciones

En el actual contexto de transformación digital, hay una gran expectativa por monetizar los datos a través de la analítica y optimizar el negocio vía la inteligencia artificial, por lo que, de manera natural, se genera la ansiedad por la velocidad con la que las organizaciones están avanzando para adaptarse a estas necesidades sacando el máximo provecho de dichas tendencias tecnológicas. En una última encuesta sobre la “deuda digital”, 745 de 750 ejecutivos de TI indicaron que esta deuda los limita para ejecutar cambios relevantes y 46% señalaron que los limitaba para ejecutar algunas iniciativas digitales. Las Unidades de Negocio demandan una constante evolución de la tecnología y no siempre las áreas de TI se encuentran preparadas para responder en los plazos y costos deseados. Por otro lado, la abundancia de requerimientos desafía la capacidad de ejecución, por lo que es indispensable priorizar usando herramientas financieras como ROI, TCO o de “user/customer experience”. Al colocar conjuntamente todos estos elementos en la mesa de análisis y decisiones, surgen innumerables preguntas que el CIO, en coordinación con las unidades de negocio, deben responder antes de iniciar el camino de la modernización.
